3 Mel Brooks films you need to see now!

Mel Brooks is the absolute king of parody film. His work is know around the world, and has been the set example for all funny films in the modern world. He has made probably most of my favorite films, and some of the best movies ever. Here are some of my reviews of his films, and other stuff.

The Twelve Chairs is me and my families favorite comedy. As a Russian I love alot of this humor, and a bit is overlooked by people without a sharp mind. But I think everyone should watch it.

In 1920s Soviet Russia a fallen aristocrat Vorobyaninov  and the town priest find that Vorobyaninovs mother had just before their palace was invaded during the revolution  she had hidden an enormous amount of jewels in their families dining room chairs. Soon enough  Vorobyaninov is on the hunt for the chairs. He eventually picks up a con artist and together they search for a treasure of jewels hidden inside one of twelve dining chairs, lost during the revolution.

Young Frankenstein is one of the funniest movies in black and white, with sound. Anyone that has seen it probably knows that this film is a bevy of quotes, and easily repeatable jokes. Although this film is old the humor is funny to all people, and I think everyone should see this just because you will know what true funny is. To anyone who’s seen this film check out these bloopers.

Blazing Saddles is on the same par as Young Frankenstein. Mel Brooks directed the amazing film, centered around modern issues such as corruption, racism and fart Jokes. Check it out.

More Awesome Cartoons!

Ralph Bakshi is the undeniable king of American adult cartoons (not porn). He is remembered by his work, such as Wizards, Fritz the Cat, Coonskin, Lord of the Rings, Coolworld, Fire and Ice and MORE! so here are some of my favorite of Ralphs films.

Coonskin is Ralph Bakshi’s compelling racial, action, thriller. It deals with life in the inner city, the struggle for existence in white mans America, drugs, violence, gangs, ninjas, music and the eternal power struggle between what is right and what is wrong. In my opinion any film that Wu-Tang Clan gives five stars, I’m ready to watch.

J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings is a 1978 American animated fantasy film brought to life by the amazing animator and director Ralph Bakshi. The film itself uses a hybrid of traditional cel animation and rotoscoped live action footage to create a wonderful and enchanting tribute to Tolkien’s original work. When I was a child my father first showed me this cartoon along with the Animated version of the Hobbit.

For a few years the Lord of The Rings would be my favorite movie; because 1. It was a cartoon, and 2. It is an incredibly epic and  awesome story. The film is available on youtube, and dvd.

Fire and Ice is a 1983 animated adventure-fantasy film, created and directed by the wonderful Ralph Bakshi (wow, see the pattern). The film was a collaboration  between Bakshi and Frank Frazetta: an American fantasy and science fiction artist. This one is quite different from the others, it has very little dialouge and focuses more on the stylistic forms of cartooning, that plus some watercolor background and you got sick action movie!

Check Out These Awesome Cartoons!

First off only a few of these animations which are all hilarious, should probably not be watched with children. The wonderful world of animation is worldwide so for those who don’t fear subtitles enjoy this!

WARNING: This film is rated R and I was told not to post the trailer here (Cartoon Boobs)

El Santos vs. La Tetona Mendoza is a 2012 animated action-comedy film, based on the comic by José Ignacio Solórzano and Trino Camacho. It is absolutely for adults only. The film was released in theaters on November 30, 2012, but is no available to view on Netflix. This side splitting Mexican animation is a story of love, violence, boobs, and zombies. The animation is very interesting, in that it encompasses many styles and formats of drawing, form, and shape.

Le Chat du Rabbin or The Rabbi’s Cat is a 2011 French animated film directed by Joann Sfar and Antoine Delesvauxset (say that 3 times fast). The animation takes place in Algeria in the 1920s, a social hotbed of racism, hate, and persecution. In it a rabbi’s cat learns how to speak after swallowing the family parrot, at first the rabbi believes the cat is a demon, this is soon put to rest and eventually the cat expresses his desire to convert to Judaism. There are many funny moments in this film, but nose so much as when the cat begins to criticize religion, and debate the rabbi at his own game. This film is also available on netflix, as well as on YouTube.

Wizards the ultimate futuristic fantasy epic. This is a 1977 American animated post-apocalyptic science fantasy film which takes place after the Earth has been burned and radiated by a massive nuclear explosion, this causes humans to become deformed mutants. After the radioactive waste calms faeries, elves, dwarvs and all sorts of other creature return to the Earth.  The main idea of the film is the battle between two wizards who are brothers, one  of them representing the forces of magic and  the other one representing the forces of industrial technology. This film uses traditional animation, rhotoscope and live action documentary footage of WWII. This one is definitely worth checking out, the whole thing is available on YouTube. All in all Wizards is pretty great.

8 funny songs to make you laugh

Musical Comedy gets alot of hate, and I don’t believe that it deserves it. There are plenty of examples of funny songs, funny musicians, and funny other…stuff. But bedsides that here are just a few examples of hilarious songs and musical comedians that definitely don’t deserve as much hate as others give them. So here, shove this in your ear-hole. Flight of the Concords, is my absolute favorite musical comedy duo. I challenge anybody to find two musically inclined comedians from New Zealand funnier than these two guys. (Not including Filli & Killi) Tenacious D is the hardest rocking comedy band that have ever graced my ears. They pump out a funny, and lyrically “intelligent” songs that cover a wide range of topics, such as the greatest song in the world, but they forgot how it went. As well as stuff like roadies. To the fans of death metal there is almost no funnier band with their own t.v. show better than Dethklok. Garfunkel and Oats, best female comedy duo ever. Period. Weird Al Yankovic is the absolute king of musical parody comedy. I know some of his songs better than the originals. I don’t know if that’s sad or not, but check out all his stuff, it great. The Lonely Island is the new age funny band featuring the absolutely hilarious Andy Samberg from S.N.L. Together this trio (and sometimes Justin Timberlake) these guys make fun of modern society by showing us all how stupid how things really are (such as YOLO) and the hilarious reality behind them. Stephen Lynch is a great musical comedian who bases his songs off of imaginary situation and his own life, If I were you I’d check out more of his stuff.

Skit Based Comedy!

Who doesn’t love the outrageous and outlandish and outright ridiculous style of sketch or skit comedy.

Although Comedy Central has never been fully able to support a sketch show, there are  many examples of great shows, many of which  true humor and the essence of funny are found in them.

Personally my favorite sketch based show is Chapelle’s Show, Dave Chapelle in this ridiculously hilarious t.v. series uses his mastery of acting to show his audience how ridiculous modern life really truly is.

My second favorite has got to be Monty Pythons Flying Circus. This troupe of english comedians show was broadcast by the BBC from 1969 to 1974, was created, written and performed by Graham ChapmanJohn CleeseTerry GilliamEric IdleTerry Jones, and Michael Palin.  This was no ordinary sketch show, it was comparable to watching the inner workings of a schizophrenic mans daily thought process. It was a more “stream of consciousness” form of comedy, only made even more funny by the fantastic animations and silly songs.

Thirdly Saturday Night Live, the longest running sketch based show on t.v. With thirty nine seasons, and over seven hundred and fifty eight episodes, it is undoubtedly something that has made a large impact on history. The show first started appeared on October 11, 1975, under the original title NBC’s Saturday Night, and has since evolved into a show that produces sketches that parody modern society, politics, and celebrities.

5 Standup Comedians That Will Make You lol.

Standup is my life. I love every part of it. The process of writing it, the struggle to get gigs, sitting at a desk screaming at a piece of paper wailing something along the lines of “BE FUNNY!” aaand so on.

On my t.v. is a constant stream of illicit cartoons, and blue collar comedy. I live like this and I was raised like this. It’s pretty fun! So now ‘imma try writing something up and pop a couple clips on here. Please

So, here are some of my favorite standup comedians!

Richard Pryor king of race and poop jokes weaves a delectable standup wand of magic. Please sit back, relax, and be offended.

Reggie Watts, afro beard wizard of weird. This man is my hero. Here he uses his loop pedal in his new Comedy Central Special “Why S**t So Crazy?”  I find this style of comedy very interesting and  very, very funny.

Dave Chapelle. One of the greatest people of the 21st century. His words are inquisitive, thoughtful, and humorous over all.  Without a doubt Dave Chapelle is a genius, and I am looking forward to his return to comedy.

Here is a clip from Eugene Mirman’s second Comedy Central Special. Eugene is a very interesting comic, instead of aproaching a joke like some comics; 1-2-punchline-add on,  Eugene seems to jump around a joke in story format, and push in add-ons whenever possible and then reach the punchline. He is one of my favorite comedians alive.

Aaaaand finally another personal favorite, the grumpy, hipster-esque, cat man Marc Maron.

6 Funny and Strange Videos.

Funny internet videos are a large staple of my life. Watching a fat guy dance or a little girl fall down a pile of snow or a goldfish rapping, is like tantamount to being touched by monkey god, or eating a large amount of french fries inducing a salt coma.

In this video my favorite comedian in the world; Eugene Mirman shows us all that we need to survive in high school. One of which is a horse. He also tells of ways to get into college and things to avoid…such as homicide.

In this ridiculous thing a goldfish is dubbed with some crappy rap and somehow is able to make me laugh my butt off.

Many people are fans of Dave Grohl, many people are fans of obsessive consumption of coffee…..FRESH POT.

This video barely needs any explanation, just some good ‘ol death metal synched to a kinder gardener at a recital, literally playing the crap out of a xylophone.

And just for fun here is another Eugene Mirman video. This one is just his voice over a John McCain political advertisement, in this video Eugene mocks McCain, and his political followers by bestowing apon them hilarious voices.
